HABPI Cue Sheets and Maps

Cue sheets, maps, and route descriptions for bike rides in and around Gettysburg. Since several rides start at the Gettysburg Rec Park, here is a map showing the Rec Park and downtown hotel locations. All rides include riding on streets though #6 can be limited to old golf cart paths.

    • #1 Cue Sheet and map of ride from Rec Park to Gettysburg College, out to Spangler’s Spring, up Hunt Avenue to Long Lane and back to Rec Park. Moderate elevation changes (about 300 feet) with a couple hills.
    • #2 Cue Sheet and map of ride from back of Rec Park to Gettysburg College, up North Trail, into residential neighborhood, out to high school and back to Rec Park. Mostly flat ride with only one hill and an elevation difference of about 100 feet.
    • #3 Cue Sheet and map of ride from Rec Park toward new visitor center, down Route 97 to Blacksmith Shop Road, down Wheatfield Road, Millerstown Road, up Willoughby Run, over to Old Mill, up Reynolds Avenue to the Peace Light, around the back of the college and back to the Rec Park. Several hills, some fairly strenous with elevation changes of about 700 feet.
    • #4 Cue Sheet/Route Description of ride from Rec Park to College to high school and back. Mostly flat ride with only one hill and an elevation difference of about 100 feet.
    • #5 Cue Sheet and map of ride from the parking lot of the Old Country Club (now Sydney’s at Willoughby Run) to Willougby Run Road, Blackhorse Tavern Road, Red Rock Road, Pumping Station Road (busy with little shoulder), Marsh Creek Covered Bridge, the Iron Bridge and return. One of the “Three Bridges Rides”. Moderate to difficult elevation changes with several hills and an elevation difference of about 600 feet.
    • #6 Cue Sheet/Route Description of ride around old Country Club and nearby neighborhoods. Mostly flat ride in a safe environment with little elevation change of about 50 feet.
    • #7 Cue Sheet and map of ride around Gettysburg, visiting the Peace Light, Barlow Knoll, Spangler Spring, Blacksmith Shop Rd, the Angle, and Old Mill Road. Several hills with moderate elevation changes of about 500 feet.
    • #8 Cue Sheet and map of ride from the Rec Park to Cyclorama Drive to Hunt Ave to Baltimore Pike to Granite Schoolhouse to Blacksmith Shop Rd to Wheatfield Rd to Millerstown Rd to Black Horse Tavern to Willougby Run to Park Avenue to Old Mill to Reynolds to Peace Light to back of college to Race Horse Alley to Franklin and back to Rec Park. Several hills with moderate to difficult elevation changes of about 700 feet.
    • Cue sheet and map for Ride #2 from the Federal Point Inn going out West Confederate Avenue past the Lee statue, crossing the Iron Bridge and Sachs Covered Bridge, taking Pumping Statin Road (busy) to Red Rock Road over a concrete bridge where wildlife can be observed. Then returning on Willoughby Run and Country Club Lane past the old golf course where fighting took place on the first day, back into town on Route 30/Old Lincoln Highway. Several hills with moderate elevation changes of about 500 feet.
    • Cue sheet and map for Ride #3 from the Federal Point Inn going around the back of the college, out to Barlow Knoll, out 4th Avenue to Spanglers Spring, out to Route 97 and around Blacksmith Shop Road to Sedgwick Avenue up to the Angle and back to the hotel. Several hills with moderate elevation changes of about 500 feet.
